A&W or Real Beer?

Family went to Brendon's play. Afterwards we went to the first A&W ever built (it's in Lodi CA) and took some fun pictures!!

And then there was Hurricane Brendon!!

What Brendon's room looks like on a regular basis!!

TWILIGHT!!

So my little sister got me hooked on the Twilight books!! They were really entertaining, but I don't think she is a great writer (if that makes sense to anyone). She does know her audience very well though and writes well to them!! But anyway, after I got hooked we got my little bro Brendon hooked so we of course had to go see the midnight showing on Thursday November 20th or Friday November 21st (however you look at it)!! We actually got pretty good seats since we showed up at 11 pm and found out that people had been camping out since 6:30 pm (WHAT?!)!! We had a little while to wait so we took some fun pictures and then I told Nana I wanted a picture of the whole theater!! She told me to run up to the front and yell to everyone that we were going to take a picture on the count of three!! They dared me to do it!! So good old me did just that!! You wouldn't believe how many people I got to cheer and wave and how many tried to hide their faces!! We also had a girl come up later and get everyone to do the wave!! We sure had fun!! The movie was AWESOME!! I was a little skeptical at first of the actors they hired to portray the characters, but I think they did a phenomenal job!!! It totally drew you in!! I was disappointed that they didn't kiss in the meadow and had to yell out at a quiet part "Hey. Where's the kiss?" Some people weren't appreciative of that. When they finally did kiss later it took them forever so one guy yelled out "Do it already!!!" They got the whole theater to laugh!! Nana and I are planning to go back this Friday and see it again with a friend!! Can't get enough Edward Cullen!!

Temple of Hymnbooks!!

Walked into my seminary room one morning and this is what I found:

YES on 8!!

As many of you know, here in California during the elections we got to vote on a proposition about same sex marriage. In 2000 Californians voted to define marriage as between a man and woman. 4 judges overturned that law and allowed same sex marriage. Proposition 8 was an amendment to the state constitution redefining marriage as between a man and woman (although it was not worded like that on the ballot). The church couldnt officially back up the proposition but they asked the members here to donate money and time. Since I had no money I donated time. The YSA wards were put in charge of going door to door to get a count of how many people were voting yes and how many were voting no and if they didn't know anything to educate them on what a change in the law would mean to everyone. After the door to door approach we got to make phone calls. It was kind of intimidating, but good to get out there and talk to people. Most people were really nice and offered support. You did get the occasional few who yelled at you, but that's to be expected. Well, after the vote we had a ward party to celebrate the vote being done, and then we waited anxiously to see what the outcome was. IT PASSED!! The final was 52% to 48% so it was close, but it won!! That doesn't mean there hasn't been a lot of after math. Before the voting was over a group for no on prop 8 put out a commercial depicting 2 mormon missionaries (not real ones of course, but they used our name all the same) going to a same sex couple house, telling them they were there to take away their rights, taking their wedding rings, and ripping up their marriage liscence. It was extremely disheartening and disappointing!! After it was over a man who is the director of Music Circus here (a huge theatrical company) was put on the line. He is a member and donated over a $1,ooo to the yes on prop 8 campaign. Because of this, other theatrical companies called Music Circus and said they would no longer support Music Circus if they kept this man as the director. Music Circus wanted to keep him, but to keep the peace this man resigned!! There have also been multiple law suits already filed!! It is truly a sign that the last days are coming!! "For men shall be lovers of their own selves..." 2 Timothy 3:2. Continue to pray for us in California!! This is far from over!!

Senior Night

GO TEAM!!! So last night was the last football game of my parents and my families H.S. career!! It was also Nana's senior night!! We played Valley High School and they had a total of 15 players!! Which means that we beat them 44 to 0!! It was FUN!! But not because we beat them!! Because we didn't watch one minute of the game!! We were watching Nana cheer and Mindy got caffine and lots of sugar in her which means that she was going CRAZY!! And I thought I was bad!! We took random pictures, yelled, did random things and everything you could think of!! It was a blast!! We also got to walk out with Nana before the game started as she got announced as a Senior Spirit leader!! After we went to McDonald's and took more crazy and random pictures!! I think our family should definitely have their own reality show or be put in some mental institution!! Nana got to do all her half time performances without music on the track!! So even if we missed a game we got to see the performance from it!! We are definitely a crazy bunch, but crazy people have the most fun!!

Apple Hill Excursion!!

So Mindy and Jason go to Apple Hill every year and this year Cat, Shaun and I went with them (since none of us have ever been). Apple Hill is a about 3o apple farms up in Placerville that open their farms to the public to view and shop (they have a whole bunch of sweet homemade wares there) and of course, buy apple stuff!! I had the most delicious apple pie, apple cider (hot course and rich and creamy) and cheesecake carmaled apple!! There were tons of opportunities to take pictures and I missed the best one!! There was a guy that worked at one of the fudge shops that could have been Brendon's friend!! Literally!! He even was wearing a shirt that looks just like Brendon has. His facial expressions even matched Brendon's. The only big difference was the nose!! I so wish I had gotten a picture!! After a day of walking around and having fun, we went to Hard Rock Cafe and made a night of it!! It was blast!!

My Halloween!!

This year I got to give out candy at my own house for the first time ever!!! It was fun although I only had about 15 people come!! Then it was off to a dance party at a friends house with my ward!! Or so I thought!! It ended up that there were TONS of people and half of them were from different wards!! She only had a pretty small living room so we were all jammed in there trying to dance, which meant very little space, lots of sweat, and a not soo good smell!! They did have a costume contest and the David Petersen and Curtis won as characters from Toy Story!! The whole family made their costumes!! It was adorable!! Because I had really short hair this year, I opted to be Annie (which is one of the few red headed TV or movie characters I haven't been yet. That and The Little Mermaid)!! I thought I looked cute although lots of people could not figure out who I was!! BOO!! Literally!!
