Hi Ho! Hi Ho! It's Off to Serve We Go!!

Most people would say that 5 am is an insanely early hour to get up on a Saturday morning, but if you are crazy Mormon bent on serving your fellow man, it's totally normal!!! And serve we did!! A group in my YSA ward got up at that insane hour to go and dig out irrigation trenches filled with mud and dirt at the church welfare farm here in Mesa AZ. It was actually a TON of fun!! There were a few other wards there as well, so we got to meet and serve with a ton of fun people!! My two favorite had to be the 5 year old and 2 year old that adopted me as their racing and throwing-mud-at-each-other buddy!! The 5 year old especially!!! He even so kindly filled my pockets up with mud!!! Their names were Dallin (5) and Adam (3). They were there with their dad and had their own cute little shovels. Their dad was extremely glad that there was someone there to play with them and get them motivated to dig out the dirt. So excited in fact that they had to leave for a little while to find the Adam a bathroom, but Dallin insisted they come back so he could throw more mud at me!! When they pulled up in their car, he opened the door and screamed as loud as he could "AMBERLYN!!" I truly love little kids!! If God never grants me any of my own, I am glad I can have a special connection with others!!!

A Very Merry Unbirthday To You!!

Whoohoo!! We had tetherball, four square, bocce, tiki torches, cake (lots of it), homemade salsa (made by Katie and oh soo good), and lots of talking and fun!! Take a look!!!
